I wish someone told me when I signed up that Fedi servers are like pirate ships
Set up automated post deletion. I don't see a need to keep most of them up. It's marked to save ones that I pinned, favorited, or bookmarked, and ones that have reached a threshold of likes and boosts.
It's kinda big for me to do this because I'm very into archiving everything but I want to see how it makes me feel.
I usually spend a long time picking out a new pair of eyeglasses.
Yesterday I picked out the glasses I liked in 20 minutes, right before they closed. It felt like such an easy thing that I doubted myself all last night before realizing what happened—I went with the glasses that gave me euphoria when I tried them on.
To have this sense of self, this feeling of elation when I express whatever my concept of self is, is something I got from coming out.
Getting queer-af corrective glasses are a great way to end Queer Pride month and usher in Disability Pride Month.
I would love to see game studios use the talent and skill they have developed over years of hard work to make games for older systems. Wow me with your mastery of the engine and the limitations you had. Refine that experience. Make 3DS games. Make PS1 games. Make Gameboy cartridges. Extend the life of older systems by 20 more years with masterpieces.
It's such a joy to see trans people existing and doing normal things #Pride
Creating a call number system for my notes, putting that hyperfixation from last summer on cutter numbers, classification, etc to good use.
I plan to use call numbers on index cards, my notebooks, and digital notes, which are all transitory notes (chronological day-to-day notes).
I'm not sure what I want to do with topics yet. Digital notes have links to topical references (ADHD, tarot, dadaism, etc). This works really well.
Do I want to make a paper-based card catalog? Will I maintain it?
I see Fedi as a channel to communicate with like-minded people and friends on my terms, without being attacked with ads and overt propaganda.
I want to make this space better, but that doesn't mean federating with everyone. That doesn't mean introducing the space to randos. It doesn't mean tolerating hate and bullshit.
I don't feel this way about other social media networks because those places want to attack me with ads and propaganda, insist I tolerate hateful people, and operate on a set of principles that actively destroys the happiness and stability of me and my friends.
she/they. queer artist. White, non-binary, genderqueer, otherkin, plural, AuDHD, chronically sick and tired, and disabled to boot.
This is my personal, not private, account. I post at @hecks too. I talk about the same things, but more personally, here, and generally don't post much publicly on this account.
