In the late 90s and early 00s, russia has threatened my country with a military intervention in case we continue our negotiations to join #EU and #NATO.

I had nightmares about what is currently happening in #Ukraine, happening in my country. I was afraid, we were afraid. We no longer are.

Regarding #USPol: I have reread 2024 analysis of project 2025 policies by #JPMorgan. They clearly state that conservatively, the #USA will tank 0.7% GDP (it's worse by current analysis) and most of it will hit import-heavy industries, implying that industries like tech won't see an *immediate* detrimental effect. They state, as clearly, that by conservative estimates, the impact on tariffed economies shall be more than twice weaker. (Again, corrected estimates increase the gap, but that's not the point here).

Key observation – it was clear to everyone that this will negatively impact American economy, especially people of low income. Do you think it wasn't clear to trump's policy makers?

If you think it was, what do you think was the actual purpose of this policy?

While we're at it, have a look at distribution of incomes of people conscripted to russian army to die in the meatgrinder (not like I have a compassion for them).

Also, I am so tired to hear from the citizens of aggressor countries like russia or israel the argument of "oh, but I have family here, oh I am just a clerk / janitor / blah-blah-blah".

Sure, moving is hard as fuck. But do they actually think that it compares even slightly to how hard it is to be displaced by war? Do people in #Ukraine and #Gaza tell to russian genocide boys "hold on, I have a job in Bakhmut, can you please do genocide elsewhere while my contract is ongoing"?

No. They pack their bags and leave wherever is less unsafe.

If your country uses military bulldozers on empty roads against humanitarian vehicles, please do everything you can to switch your country or, if you can't, resist.

It's not some sort of abstract idea. Descent into fascism ends with Gestapo at your doorstep, even if you're "loyal" and even if you have "nothing to hide".

It's ridiculous that the people who were meant to "never forget" the most forgot first.
